The Turner Prize winners artist of 2008 was awarded to Mark Lackey. It was given on 1 December 2008. The £25,000 Turner Prize was given by Tate Gallery Britain. Mark Lackey was one of the four nominees. Turner Prize 2008 was given based on their work in the previous year.
Turner Prize nominees 2008 were Runa Islam, Goshka Macuga and Cathy Wilkes. This was the first time since 1998 that three female nominees were selected. The chairman of the jury Stephen Deuchar who is also a Director of Tate Britain awarded to participants. The artwork shown by the nominees at the invitational exhibition was not liked by the critics.

Runa Islam was nominated for her solo exhibition named Centre of Gravity at the Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen and National Museum of Art, Oslo, Norway. The presentation of her work at the Venice Biennale 2007 was also included. She was born in Bangladesh and now 37 years of age.
This artist is training at Rijksakademie at Amsterdam. She is also trained also at Royal College of Art.
Turner Prize Winners Mark Leckey
Mark Leckey is another nominated artist. He was nominated for solo exhibitions Industrial Light & Magic at Le Consortium, Dijon and Resident at the Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne.
He was born in London, now his age is 44. He is doing job as a professor in a film studies professor in Germany. His working place is at the Städelschule in Frankfurt.
Turner Prize Winners Goshka Macuga
Goshka Macuga is the nominated artist for Turner Prize winners art award. She was nominated for the solo exhibition Objects in Relation, Art Now at Tate Britain where the main art exhibition takes place.
Her contribution to the 5th Berlin Biennial that took place for Contemporary Art is so famous. She was born in Poland and now at his 41 years of age. She likes to describe her as a “cultural anthropologist”.
Cathy Wilkes is another nominated artist for Turner Prize winners 2008 art award. She was selected for her solo exhibition at Milton Keynes Gallery. She is from Glasgow and her age is 42.
